Meet the Chef

How it all started…
I’ve loved cooking for as long as I can remember.  Unlike most "traditional" households, my mother was not one to be in the kitchen, due to her hectic work schedule. But my dad, if he didn’t do anything else, he made sure he cooked for his girls. My dad and Julia Childs were my cooking instructors. I used to stand on my step stool beside him in the kitchen and watch him create meals that warmed my tummy. I fell in in love with food and cooking during those childhood years. I could always just whip up recipes; it’s my God-given talent. So many people say they can’t cook but half the fear is just doing it, you might be surprised.

I started this blog honestly for my newswriting and reporting class in college. But my dad always stressed the fact to document my recipes and a pen and notebook wasn’t going to cut it. Hopefully the blog will help me with what I hope to do one day: make a living in something to do with food for now, I enter cooking competitions, write this blog and fit school in along the way.

A bit more about me…
Likes: Cooking...obviously; shopping...I need to go to rehab!; spending time with my family; anything dealing with pork; food in general if I’m being honest;

Top shop: Team long-heels no flats over here; beaches; Miami girl; reading cook books/magazines; summer; swimming; my friends; my family; sunglasses; big purses; trying new restaurants; taking photos.
Dislikes: Cold; unmotivated individuals; school lunches; bland food; early mornings; losing.

Wish list: A Rangemaster cooker; to have a recipe book published; be on- or ideally have my own-cooking show; black Christian Louboutins; to travel to Europe and indulge in every accept of their cuisine, start a private chef/ catering company; a pizza oven- preferably one of those traditional, wood-burning outdoor ones; a waffle iron; a red Range Rover; cook for the Miami Heat.
